Earlier Viber for Android was available in beta period and to some beta testers. But now the Viber Android app is available in Android market for free download.
I have been using Viber on my android mobile and trust me its one of the greatest apps for Free Calls and messages on mobile. Viber is an Android and iPhone application that lets you make free phone calls and send free text messages to other users that have Viber installed.
Viber is basically a cross platform mobile voip application. If you have Viber installed on your android mobile and your friend is using Viber on his/her iPhone, you can both talk/chat/sms for free.
